SONY is going to partner with LG Display in order to launch its upcoming new Xperia smartphones with OLED Display technology and rise up the company mobile business that has been struggling by some years now.

SONY has experienced a success on the OLED Display for the premium TV business and now  is ready to boost Xperia smartphones with Flexible OLED Display by LG.

Japan:  Sony’s market share in the global smartphone market is not high and remaining at a single digit, but ranks second to Apple in Japan. In the first half of last year, Sony enjoyed a market share of 14.9%, already beating Samsung Electronics (8.2%), Sharp (7.3%) and Fujitsu (8.9%).

SONY Xperia smartphones are here to stay: In order to embody user experience (UX) that Sony pursues and integrate various services, Sony has to maintain its smartphone business. This is the reason why Sony has not given up its smartphone business despite sluggish sales and deficits.

"Sony is expected to implant its success factors in the TV business in its smartphone business and develop products such as foldable phones."

Michael O'Rielly, one of the commissioners of the FCC (Federal Communications Commission, the US regulatory agency) has proposed that the agency initiate a procedure to open the 6 GHz band for use in Wi-Fi, after which a study commissioned by the big

Technological firms have shown that their coexistence with current services is possible.

In a meeting with the commissioners of the FCC, RFK Engineering presented the results of a study on possible interference commissioned by Apple, Facebook, Google, Qualcomm and other companies. The resulting report states that Wi-Fi in the 6 GHz band would not cause harmful interference to existing services, as long as Wi-Fi networks use the usual interference mitigation techniques and respect standards similar to those applied. in the Wi-Fi band of 5 GHz.

O'Rielly has affirmed on Twitter that this study solves many of the questions about technical interference. While acknowledging that we will have to continue investigating before issuing an opinion, he adds that the question "should lead to a proposed FCC regulation next summer."

The support of the industry

Currently, the United States uses spectrum in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands for Wi-Fi, while the 6 GHz band is reserved primarily for fixed-satellite service and fixed microwave connection.

In response to an FCC query that looked at a flexible use of the spectrum between 3.7 GHz and 24 GHz, a coalition of technology companies argued in October that the 6 GHz band should also be open to Wi-Fi, and said it was missing Spectrum not subject to license. Apple, Broadcom, Cisco, Facebook, Google, Intel, Microsoft, Qualcomm, Sony and others committed to producing 6 GHz-enabled devices "in a reasonable period of time" if the FCC opens that band.

They wrote that "spectrum not subject to licensing eliminates the barriers that hinder entry, expands consumer connectivity and allows a greater number of companies to take advantage of new business processes, thereby promoting innovation and investment in all the economy. If you open the 6 GHz band for use without a license, the Commission will facilitate such progress. "

First Mustang Bullitt 2019 was auctioned off at $ 300.000. Video.

The first Mustang Bullitt 2019, which was recently presented at the Detroit Auto Show last week, was sold at the Barret-Jackson auction, achieving the not inconsiderable $ 300,000.

As is customary with the special edition Mustangs created by Ford, the proceeds from the sale of the first Mustang Bullit will go to a charitable cause, in this case Boys Republic, a private school for males with problems, to the that McQueen attended and of which he was honorary president from 1966 to 1975.

Although at the moment the final price of the Mustang Bullitt 2019 is not known, it is a fact that it will cost much less than the $ 300,000 obtained by the first model built.

Needless to say, since its introduction last week, the Mustang Bullitt 2019 aroused many feelings among fans of the legendary muscle car, especially those who are attracted to the fastback 68 driven by Steve McQueen.

The first Mustang Bullitt 2019 unleashed a wave of admiration.

In fact, the presentation of the first Mustang Bullit in Detroit was accompanied by photos and videos of the original Mustang Bullitt that was found and restored, as well as the presentation of a unique video where we see Molly McQueen, granddaughter of the legendary actor, starring curious pursuit inside a parking lot having like rimuy similar to that of the movie.

In addition, Ford announced the release of Little Pieces: The Untold Story of the Bullitt Mustang, a documentary that tells the story of this famous model and will be, in short, a must for all Mustang Bullitt fans.

As you may remember, the Ford Mustang Bullitt 2019 is dressed in the same Dark Highland Green color of the film's car, also has 19-inch wheels, exclusive to this version, exhaust system with active valve and outputs in NitroPlate Black color .

On a mechanical level, this Stang has a 5.0-liter V8 engine, which comes from the Mustang GT but in this case boasts an injection system inherited from the Shelby GT350 and new body acceleration that allow it to develop a power of 475 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque.

Vanderhall Edison EV, three wheels and retro adrenaline.

During the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), in Las Vegas, Vanderhall surprised with his Edison, a three-wheeled electric car with a lot of power.

This vintage-style vehicle, a direct competitor of the Morgan EV3, makes use of two electric motors that offer 180 Hp and 240 Lb-ft. With a weight of just 635 kg, this car can reach 100 km / h in only 4 seconds, far surpassing the EV3 for less than half the time. Its maximum speed, on the other hand, is 168 km / h.

Its range of autonomy also surprises, with the ability to roll for 320 km with a single charge of its 30 kWh battery. In addition to this, its mechanics is completed with traction control and Brembo single piston brakes with braking assistance.

Inside the car we can see an analog panel with a very interesting retro look. To combat the cold, the synthetic fabric seats are heated, in addition to a dual ventilation system. The 600W system with Bluetooth and LED lighting give the model its special touch. Of course, there is not much to see in terms of customization, because the Edison is only available in black.

Vanderhall is receiving reservations for this car, with a view to delivering the first units before mid-year ... the price? A Vanderhall Edison quotes at just over USD 35,000.

Alexa loses her voice on Amazon`s Super Bowl Ad, starring Jeff Bezos CEO. New AI speaker product model coming?

The ad opens on a woman brushing her teeth and asking Alexa a common morning question: “What’s the weather like today?” Alexa answers, “In Austin, it’s 60 degrees with a chance — ” before coughing and going out of commission.

As news reports on Alexa losing her voice take over televisions, Amazon`s CEO  Jeff Bezos runs to his crew to find out how such a thing could have happened. His team says a replacement is ready to go at Bezos’s command.

“And you’re sure this is going to work?” he asks. The team responds with a not exactly resounding “yeah,” leaving open the question of who exactly will replace Alexa’s voice.

Whether Alexa got sick (the flu is pretty severe this year) or needs a break from constantly answering questions, things aren’t looking too good for the virtual assistant in Amazon’s Super Bowl ad.

However a replacement seems to be on the way. New  Alexa AI speaker product model?  or your guess ?????

Two new OLED iPhones coming this year 5.85 inch and 6.46 inch models, both with L-shaped batteries.

Accotding to ETNews Apple is going to launch Two new OLED iPhones  this year one 5.85 inch and  the second with 6.46 inch models, both with L-shaped batteries.

Apple started  to Outline Suppliers of Components That Will Go into Next iPhone:

"Components that will go into next iPhone and names of these components manufacturers have been outlined. SCM (Supply Chain Management) system that is different from last year’s is expected as number of OLED iPhone models increases.
According to industries on the 25th, apple is going to release two new OLED iPhones this year. Along with ‘iPhone X’, which was released last year, it is going to add 5.85-inch and 6.46-inch models. If its plan follows through, number of OLED iPhones will increase from one from last year to three this year. Changes to supply and demand of components that will go into iPhones will be inevitable as number of OLED iPhone models increases. Especially there will be changes to display parts and SCM.
Apple is looking to increase number of OLED RFPCB (Rigid Flexible Printed Circuit Board) suppliers. Besides BHE, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, and Interflex that have been supplying RFPCBs to Apple since last year, it is heard that Apple will select another one or two South Korean companies as vendors. It is increasing number of RFPCB suppliers due to an increase in number of OLED iPhone models.
Apple is also going to increase number of OLED panel suppliers. Currently Samsung Display is the only one that is supplying OLED panels to Apple. However, LG Display will join Samsung Display as OLED panel suppliers and it will be responsible for manufacturing 6.46-inch flexible OLED panels.
Definite timing of delivery has not been confirmed yet. However, it is understood that selection of additional OLED RFPCB suppliers is related to supply of OLED panels by LG Display. Many representatives explain that new RFPCBs that is needed for display modules will be needed as LG Display is going to supply its OLED panels to Apple for the first time. RFPCB connects a panel and a main board and helps a display to operate smoothly.
As a result, RFPCBs that are manufactured by BHE, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, and Interflex will be supplied to Samsung Display while RFPCBs that are manufactured by new supplies will be supplied to LG Display, which then combine its OLED panel and RFPCB into single module. Modularized displays will be then supplied to Apple.
Types of batteries that will go into next iPhone and names of manufacturers are also being outlined. LG Chemicals is preparing to manufacture L-shaped batteries. LG Chemicals is currently preparing production lines of batteries just for Apple in Nanjing, China, and it was found out that representatives from Apple and LG Chemicals were inspecting production equipment at LG Chemicals’ plant in Nanjing. Because this indicates that LG Chemicals is preparing to bring in equipment for actual production, it is likely that LG Chemicals will soon mass-produce and supply these L-shaped batteries if there are not any unforeseen variables such as accidents or others.
L-shaped battery, which is also called as ‘free form’ as it breaks from a traditional rectangular shape, implements a L shape with single battery cell. Because it does not need a structure that connects two battery cells, it can reduce volume and weight while increasing battery capacity. There is a growing interest towards this move as it is an attempt made by Apple, which is the Smartphone manufacturer in the world that has the strongest influence.
It seems that Apple will release new iPhones during this fall just like any other years. Timing of mass-production of RFPCBs for displays is scheduled for May. To make inferences based on production process, displays will be produced sometime during June and finished products will be produced after June. Timing of production of new iPhone is similar to that of iPhone X that was released last year."

SUPER BOWL 2018 : SONY on counterattack against Samsung and LG for North American TV markets.

SONY X900F| LED | 4K Ultra HD | High Dynamic Range (HDR) | Smart TV (Android TV)

Competitions within North American TV markets are becoming more fierce as ‘Super Bowl’, which is the biggest sports event in the U.S., is set to take place after two weeks. While Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics, which are competing against each other for first and second places based on market shares, SONY is planning on a counterattack against them.

As number of consumers who want to enjoy sports events on large-screen TVs is increasing, it is likely that TVs that are bigger than 60 inches will be established as ‘trends’ during this peak season for TVs.

According to industries on the 22nd, an influential consumer media called Consumer Reports recently selected top 10 best TV models for Super Bowl. This ranking had four of LG Electronics’ products including its OLED TV called ‘LG OLED 65W7P’, three of Samsung Electronics’ products including its QLED TV called ‘QN65Q7C’, and three of SONY’s products including its OLED TV called ‘BraviaXBR-65A1E’.

‘Super Bowl’, which is the finals for American football, is the biggest sports event in the U.S. It was calculated that 111.3 million people watched last year’s Super Bowl. Based on market shares that looked for how many viewers who had their TVs turned on and watched last year’s Super Bowl, 72% of them watched last year’s Super Bowl.

Number of demands from consumers who are trying to enjoy Super Bowl comfortably at home is focused in January and it is one of the busiest seasons for TV manufacturers. According to an American retail market research company called Gap Intelligence, discount rate of TVs within two weeks before Super Bowl is the second highest followed by Black Friday. It was found out that TV manufacturers sold their TVs on 22% discount during Super Bowl season.

Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics have been working on their market shares by targeting this time around when number of demands for TVs soars due to Super Bowl. It is likely that they will carry out various discounts and marketing just like last year. It is expected that they will also carry out unprecedented promotions in order to clear out current inventories before they release their new 2018 TVs.

One thing to notice during this year’s Super Bowl is that SONY has also joined competitions with Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics that are in the lead. SONY’s influence has gotten stronger recently within North American TV markets as Consumer Report, which has more than 7 million subscribers, selected three of SONY’s products as top 10 best TV models for Super Bowl.

SONY has been threatening South Korean TV manufacturers by putting out premium OLED TVs since last year. “SONY has been threatening market shares of Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics.” said a representative for a TV industry. “SONY will try to revive itself through aggressive marketing strategies during this Super Bowl season.”

After a market research company called IHS analyzed market shares of TVs that cost more than $1,500 during the first quarter of 2017, SONY’s market shares (39%) more than doubled compared to previous quarter and was placed number one.

High-quality TVs that have large screens are also keywords that run through Super Bowl. Majority of industries agree that many consumers are looking for large-screen TVs that are bigger than 60 inches even if they are expensive in order to enjoy realistic sports events.

Actually 9 of 10 models selected by Consumer Reports are all 65-inch TVs and only one of them was 60-inch TV. Although 60-inch TVs are currently responsible for only 15% of market shares, it is expected that this value will grow by a lot due to Super Bowl.

“Demands for large-screen TVs have something in common with strategies of South Korean premium TV manufacturers such as Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics.” said a representative for a TV industry.

“It is likely that booming of TV markets will continue as global sports events such as Pyeongchang Winter Olympics and Russia World Cup are also scheduled to take place this year.”

Q3 2017:

The average size of a TV shipped in Q3 2017 increased 1.7 percent to 42.1 inches, although when combined with the much reduced price erosion, helped TV revenues increase year-over-year for the first time in three years. The growth of 4K also contributed to the positive revenue result, with 4K mix increasing to 35 percent of units and 64 percent of revenues.

On a brand basis, due to the poor demand results in China, Chinese TV brands have been aggressively pursuing more business overseas, IHS Markit says. Hisense and TCL both significantly increased market share worldwide due to strong growth outside of China.

Samsung and LG Electronics are the top TV brands on a unit and revenue share basis worldwide, but TCl and Hisense have risen to numbers three and four respectively, both increasing share from a year ago to their highest TV shipment share yet. Samsung and LGE each also led on a revenue basis, while Sony grew its revenue share at number three to the highest level since 2011 on growing premium TV sales, including OLED TV.

Samsung Galaxy S9/S9+ press pictures leaked.

According to @eveleaks the pictures below are of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ on all splendor. As you can notice the S9 is 5.8 inch and the S9+ a 6.2 inch. Both will sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 in the U.S. and China, and Samsung’s own Exynos 9810 systems-on-chip in the rest of the world, the first differentiator between the S9 siblings (codenamed Star and Star 2) lies in their memory configurations: 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage for the S9+, but the same 4GB/64GB pairing as last generation for the standard S9.

Besides motion-detected, “super slow-mo” video capture (rapid movement triggers 480fps recording at 720p), both devices are said to feature variable aperture on their primary 12-megapixel cameras. It’s a mechanical adjustment that switches between f/2.4 and smallest-in-class f/1.5.

Q4 2017: Apple shipped 29 million iPhone X says Canalys.

Apple shipped 29 million iPhone Xs in Q4 2017. This made it the world’s best-shipping smartphone model over the holiday season. Adoption was driven by upgrade demand in operator-centric markets, where Apple’s installed base is high and customers can finance the cost of handsets over many months. Another notable highlight for the iPhone X is that of the 29 million shipped, 7 million were in China.

“The iPhone X performance is impressive for a device priced at US$999, but it is slightly below industry expectations,” said Ben Stanton, Analyst at Canalys. “Apple struggled with supply issues in early November, but achieved a massive uplift in production in late November and throughout December.

This helped it meet and even exceed demand in some markets by the end of the quarter. One major benefit to Apple is that customers are increasingly realizing the residual value of their old smartphones, opting for trade-in programs to offset the high price of the iPhone X. But that big price tag, and Apple’s split launch strategy, still had an impact, and shipments were not the fastest ever for an iPhone.”

Apple’s iPhone SE, 6s, 7 and 8 models also shipped well in Q4. The older handsets are still popular with iPhone users looking for value for money. “Apple is looking at its best performance to date, all thanks to the massive changes it made to its portfolio in Q3,” said Canalys Analyst TuanAnh Nguyen.

“This strategy has hedged Apple’s risk as it upgrades the iPhone, in both design and user experience. While new technologies, such as Face ID and bezel-less displays, help to justify the US$999 price tag and maintain competitiveness with Samsung, Huawei and Google, having a larger portfolio allows Apple to meet its overall shipment targets, and protect its market leadership in the premium segment.”

How Amazon Go store technology works? FAQS. Video.

Walls and ceilings that monitor.

As the company explains on its website, its new supermarket uses "the most advanced purchasing technology in the world" and the "most sophisticated systems of machine learning, computer vision and artificial intelligence".

And that translates into hundreds of infrared cameras and electronic sensors that monitor each of their customers from the ceiling to identify and control the products they select, says Chris Johnston, a BBC business reporter.

Those cameras were put to the test with Amazon employees over the past year to see if they could differentiate the movements of customers inside the store and those of the products, especially those with similar appearance.

The shelves are also full of sensors that indicate if any of the products has been removed (or if it has been returned). And many carry a code that makes it easier for cameras to identify.

Invoices, electronic, of course, are sent to users credit cards once they leave the store.

Without human interaction and with "virtual" car.

To enter the shop, buyers must go through doors similar to those in a few meters and slide their phone through sensors.

All you need to do is scan a QR code, a two-dimensional bar code to enter the store.

This technology did not exist before. It is a real breakthrough
Gianna Puerini, vice president of Amazon Go

Through an application - "Just Walk Out"  - Amazon customers can select any of the food products they see on the shelf and enter them directly into their shopping bag.

The car or the basket of the purchase does not make sense in this supermarket (it is "virtual"), unless you need to provide your identity card to buy alcohol and other products with age restriction (that is, practically, the only human interaction in your shopping experience).

There are also no people to monitor your movements: the sensors perceive if you leave a product and automatically delete it from your bill. Although if you need to ask for advice, there are employees at your disposal.

There are also no shopping carts or baskets: each buyer chooses what he wants without having to pay for it.

The company says that this technology is similar to that used by some cars without a driver, especially with regard to automatic learning algorithms and sensor fusion.

Thief-proof.

"Fast shopping has been 'the future of retailing' for some time," says Johnston. "But now Amazon believes that its time has come, or at least that it is ready to put it to the test all over the world."

Amazon did not offer any information on how accurate its technology is.

"But what we do know is that they are able to catch the less honest ones." A New York Times reporter tried to steal cans of soda, but the system detected it and added it to his account, "says Johnston.

Without tedious rows.

Amazon has not yet confirmed whether it will open more Go stores or whether it will introduce this new technology in Whole Foods, the US supermarket chain specializing in organic foods, which it acquired last year for nearly US $ 14,000 million.

Making the supermarket queue a thing of the past will give any retailer an advantage over its competitors.

"However, retailers know that the faster their customers shop, the more likely they are to come back," explains Johnston.

"Making the dreaded supermarket queue a thing of the past will give any retailer an advantage over its competitors," he adds.

This is not the first incursion of Amazon - which started selling books online - in retail.

In 2015, the company opened its first physical library (also in Seattle, where it has its base). Now there are about 13 Amazon stores in the United States, plus dozens of "pop-ups" (temporary), which also sells electronic devices and small gifts.

Some analysts say that Amazon uses its stores to promote its Prime service, which works with a membership.

Brian Olsavsky, Amazon's chief financial officer, recently announced (last October) that his rivals will see more Amazon stores in the coming years.

"They will see an expansion, it's still early ... those plans will develop over time."

FAQS

What is Amazon Go?
Amazon Go is a new kind of store with no checkout required. We created the world’s most advanced shopping technology so you never have to wait in line. With our Just Walk Out Shopping experience, simply use the Amazon Go app to enter the store, take the products you want, and go! No lines, no checkout. (No, seriously.)

How does Amazon Go work?
Our checkout-free shopping experience is made possible by the same types of technologies used in self-driving cars: computer vision, sensor fusion, and deep learning. Our Just Walk Out Technology automatically detects when products are taken from or returned to the shelves and keeps track of them in a virtual cart. When you’re done shopping, you can just leave the store. Shortly after, we’ll send you a receipt and charge your Amazon account.

Where is Amazon Go located?
Our store is located at 2131 7th Ave, Seattle, WA, near the corner of 7th and Blanchard.

When can I visit?
We're open 7AM—9PM, Monday through Friday.

How big is the store?
Our roughly 1,800 square feet of retail space is conveniently compact so busy customers can get in and out fast.

Do you have any people working in the store?
Yes. Our great team of associates works in both the kitchen and the store to prep ingredients, make our ready-to-eat food, stock shelves, and help customers. (Need a product recommendation? Ask an associate!)

Why did you build Amazon Go?
We asked ourselves: what if we could create a shopping experience with no lines and no checkout?
