WorldWideTech & Science. Francisco De Jesús.

The Global Certification Forum (GCF) has announced that Samsung’s USB modem GT-B3740 last month became the first LTE device to achieve official GCF certification.

A second device, the LG FM300 Xenon, an LTE-connected Wi-Fi router, was certified on 4 April 2011.

In a statement, the GCF noted: “GCF Certification is designed to provide confidence that new devices are compliant with relevant standards and interoperable with network systems irrespective of infrastructure vendor.”
